About Kentuckiana Wedding Planner

The Kentuckiana Wedding Planner website provide valuable information to brides by assisting them in connecting to wedding vendors in the Louisville and Southern Indiana area. Our goal is to provide a variety of wedding planning information for all budgets by tapping into the expertise of Kentuckiana's wedding vendors. As guests on the show, the vendors explain their part of the industry to the bride. They are the experts in their respective field and brides are able to view these experts in action.

This same goal is furthered with the website. We assist the viewers with a quick and easy reference to vendors through a Local Directory that contains contact information for many of the businesses in the Kentuckiana area that cater to the wedding industry.

Heather French Henry, host

Miss America 2000 and Champion for Homeless Veterans, the first Miss America of the 2000's, Heather's platform was raising awareness of the plight of homeless veterans. Her activities and outspoken year of service earned her the Woman of Achievement Award for the year 2000. Heather was the only Miss America to be so honored at the end of her year of service.

Heather has received numerous awards throughout her year of service and since, including the most recent, the prestigious Purple Heart Recognition Award. This award is given by the Military Order of the Purple Heart Organization four times a year to individuals that work on a national level to raise public awareness of veterans’ issues.

After completing her Miss America obligations in September 2000, she married Kentucky Lt. Gov. Stephen Henry at the Cathedral of the Assumption in Louisville, followed by an old-fashioned carriage ride to their reception for 1,500 guests at a historic Louisville hotel, the Seelbach Hilton. As a fashion-design graduate, she was able to create her white silk peau de soie gown in collaboration with designers in New York and Nashville.

In June of 2001, Heather and Lt. Governor Henry, were blessed with the birth of their first daughter, Harper Renee.

Brenda Nickles, coordinator

Brenda Nickles has planned over 2000 weddings in the past 28 years. She began her extensive wedding planning career in 1980 by opening her first catering business, "Catering By Brenda." After attending a friends wedding and observing the overpriced catering, she knew that she could do better for less money. Six years after getting involved in the catering business, she built her first reception hall as an extension of her restaurant in Southern Indiana, where she began offering full wedding planning services.

In 1997, she opened Lakeside Reflections in Jeffersonville, Indiana, which has become one of Southern Indiana's premier wedding and event locations. Brenda specializes in focusing on the details of whatever event she is planning to make that event the most memorable for the attending guests.
